Jaime Pressly Talks Divorce And DUI
It's been a tough 2011 so far for Jaime Pressly, who is currently fighting a DUI charge, and recently filed for divorce.
Now, Pressly has decided to clear the air and open up about her divorce and DUI charge.
Here's what she had to say about the DUI with regards to her divorce:
"People thinking my divorce is [...]
Old friends become new frenemies! (but we don’t think this will last too long)
Elton John recently made some comments to Rolling Stone about Billy Joel’s lack of success in rehab, saying that he’s only gone to “rehab lite.”
And although Elton’s comments came from a place of love, Billy is pretty pissed and isn’t speaking to him at the moment.
All of this is coming from Elton’s end of things — Billy has publicly said that he has no problem with Elton's remarks:
"I've enjoyed our relationship too much to let something as random as these comments change my affection for him. Elton is just being Elton."
We hope they patch things up! The music community suffers when they’re not friends!

First Look: Andrew Garfield As Peter Parker In The Spider-Man Reboot
OK … so I think I finally have some semi-official and somewhat definitive news regarding the release of Britney Spears‘s new single Hold It Against Me. I was contacted, along with a selection of other bloggers, by Britney‘s record label to be part of a fun fan-driven Facebook campaign to help get Brit‘s single released. If everything goes according to plan, it will be the concerted effort of Britney‘s fans that will get the song released at last.
The way it will work is YOU fans will be asked to spread a special message on your Facebook pages and once 2 million fans share the message, the song will automatically unlock and be released. In the coming days, a customized Pink is the new Blog widget will appear here on the site and then it will be up to YOU to use the widget to spread the message on Facebook. Thus far, there has been no official date released as to when this Facebook campaign will go down but I’m hearing it could be as early as next Monday January 10 … but, as with all the release dates we’ve been hearing, we cannot be sure of anything just yet. Know this, Britney‘s new song will be unlocked within hours if not minutes of the Facebook campaign’s launch.
Now, I should clarify … it’s not clear if the song will actually unlock and be heard on Facebook or if the campaign will merely play out on Facebook and the song will unlock on some official website … but it is clear that fans will have to spread the message on Facebook to unlock the song and get it released.
I’m certain it will not be difficult to get 2 million people to work together in order to get Hold It Against Me released. Be ready … I’m counting on all y’all to help get Britney‘s song released! I know I can’t wait a second longer than necessary — can you?

CNN Celebrates The Heroes Of 2010
Sad and very disappointing news to pass along today Disney Animation fans … according to the company itself, The Walt Disney Company will no longer produce animated/musical films based on classic fairy tales. Tangled, Disney‘s modern take on Rapunzel, hits theaters next week and altho the film will not be presented in traditional 2D animation, it will feature a classic fairy tale story (like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) set to a musical soundtrack (like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin) … and, sadly, it will be the last Disney animated feature to do so … at least for the “foreseeable future”:
Once upon a time, there was a studio in Burbank that spun classic fairy tales into silver-screen gold. But now the curtain is falling on “princess movies,” which have been a part of Disney Animation’s heritage since the 1937 debut of its first feature film, “Snow White.” The studio’s Wednesday release of “Tangled,” a contemporary retelling of the Rapunzel story, will be the last fairy tale produced by Disney’s animation group for the foreseeable future. “Films and genres do run a course,” said Pixar Animation Studios chief Ed Catmull, who along with director John Lasseter oversees Disney Animation. “They may come back later because someone has a fresh take on it … but we don’t have any other musicals or fairy tales lined up.” Indeed, Catmull and Lasseter killed two other fairy tale movies that had been in development, “The Snow Queen” and “Jack and the Beanstalk.” To appreciate what a sea change this is for the company, consider that a fairy tale castle is a landmark at Disney theme parks around the world and is embedded in the Walt Disney Pictures logo. Fairy tale characters from Disney’s movies populate the parks, drive sales of merchandise and serve as the inspiration for Broadway musicals … Over the decades, Disney has benefited from the ticket sales and licensing revenue generated by such princess-driven properties as “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Aladdin.” The studio’s most recent offering, however, was a clear disappointment. Although critically acclaimed, last year’s “The Princess and the Frog” was the most poorly performing of Disney’s recent fairy tales. In the age of mega-franchises when movies need to appeal to a broad audience to justify a sizable investment, Disney discovered too late that “Princess and the Frog” appealed to too narrow an audience: little girls. This prompted the studio to change the name of its Rapunzel movie to the gender-neutral “Tangled” and shift the lens of its marketing to the film’s swashbuckling male costar, Flynn Rider …
The article excerpt continues, after the jump …
So why has the clock struck midnight for Disney’s fairy tales? Among girls, princesses and the romanticized ideal they represent — revolving around finding the man of your dreams — have a limited shelf life. With the advent of “tween” TV, the tiara-wearing ideal of femininity has been supplanted by new adolescent role models such as the Disney Channel’s Selena Gomez and Nickelodeon’s Miranda Cosgrove. “By the time they’re 5 or 6, they’re not interested in being princesses,” said Dafna Lemish, chairwoman of the radio and TV department at Southern Illinois University and an expert in the role of media in children’s lives. “They’re interested in being hot, in being cool. Clearly, they see this is what society values” … “You’ve got to go with the times,” MGA Chief Executive Isaac Larian said. “You can’t keep selling what the mothers and the fathers played with before. You’ve got to see life through their lens” … Bonnie Arnold, an animation veteran who most recently produced DreamWorks Animation’s “How to Train Your Dragon,” said animated films must vie in the cineplex with effects-laden action films that a generation ago might have been considered more mature fare. “You see elementary school kids standing in line to see ‘Iron Man’ or ‘Transformers,’ ” Arnold said. “To be honest, that’s who we’re all competing with on some level.” In an effort to give the Rapunzel story a more contemporary feel, Catmull and Lasseter pushed the reset button in 2008 and brought in a new directing duo who had both worked on Disney’s animated movie “Bolt.” The Rapunzel film underwent a “total restart,” Catmull said: All the prior work was scrapped and the movie was reconceived as a musical with five songs by Disney’s veteran, multiple-Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken. The only surviving elements, Catmull said, were “the hair, the tower and Rapunzel.”
The company feels that the use of fairy tales, a tradition upon which Disney Animation feature films was founded on back in 1936 with Snow White, has “run its course” and that they must focus on new stories to win “wider appeal”. I personally think this is bullshizz. While I LOVE new, original stories like Toy Story, Up!, Monster’s Inc., etc. I really feel that the heart and soul of Disney animation (and animated films in general) comes from the retelling of classic fairy tales. Fairy tales resonate within all of us … they are ancient tales that spark archetypes in our collective psyches and give us all a familiar point of reference to respond to. I don’t understand why there needs to be a complete cut off of that spark. The new animated films are fantastic, yes, but I’m really bummed that classic tales will be thrown by the wayside in order to appeal to a wider audience. Why can’t they alternate new and old stories? Why can’t they, at the very least, put out a classic fairy tale every other year … every 5th year, something? IMHO, the new stories told by Disney/Pixar have a decidedly Western feel to them (like Cars) … while classic fairy tales (like Aladdin, for example) have a much wider appeal. I dunno … this news just really rubs me the wrong way. What do y’all think … are you bothered at all by this news? Do you think telling fairy tales has “run its course” or do you, like me, believe that there is still merit and entertainment to be had in modern retellings of classic fairy tales?

Will Tom Hardy Play Hugo Strange In ‘Batman: The Dark Knight Rises’?
Now … take this bit of info with a huge grain of salt BUT … Britney Spears was reportedly spotted making her way to a music video shoot here in SoCal on Wednesday afternoon. We don’t know what the music video is for nor do we know *for sure* that it was a music video shoot at all … but the studio she rolled up on is one that is used to film music videos so … there you have it:
It is quite possible that Britney wasn’t filming a music video at all and was simply working on another video project (a commercial, an awards show video, etc.) but, then again, I suppose it’s also possible that she is secretly working on a music video for the first single off her new album which she *might* drop on us as a complete surprise in the coming weeks!!! Yes, it is highly unlikely that we’ll be hearing new music or seeing a video before the year is over but, then again, Xmas miracles do happen. Irregardless of whether or not she was filming a music video per se, it’s quite clear that our dear Britney is working hard on something. I cannot wait to find out what it is ;D

Janet Jackson Announces A New World Tour
Last night David and I met up for drinks with our friend Jordan who we haven’t seen in quite a few weeks. That boy is always so bizzy flying around the world that it’s really hard to pin him down to just one location for very long. We hooked up with him at Saint Felix in West Hollywood, CA for some drinks and conversation … and we got to share our time with the fabulous Billy Dee Williams:
Jordan then dragged us to a milkshake place so that we could indulge in horribly fattening yet absolutely delicious candy bar-filled milkshakes together. We kept it casual but fun … ’twas a nice night out on the town.
Tonight, I’ll be swinging by the movie theater to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and then later on tonight, I’ll be making my way to the Viper Room on the Sunset Strip to see American Hi-Fi LIVE in concert! It’s Friday, it’s the Weekend! I hope you have a great one!!

Paris Hilton Does Community Service
Yesterday evening, before I made my way to the Viper Room to see American Hi-Fi LIVE in concert, I attended an opening day showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 at the ArcLight in Hollywood, CA. Without question, I loved every single second of the film and enjoyed it so thoroughly that I cannot wait to see it again:
JK Rowling‘s Harry Potter books are always so rich with detail and lush storytelling that the film versions, as good as they are, seem like watered down tales that pale in comparison to the original source material. Because the final Harry Potter book, The Deathly Hallows, has been turned into 2 films, that watered down feeling didn’t feel as heavy-handed as it does for previous films. True, not everything in the first half of Deathly Hallows is included in Part 1 but we do get much more of the story than we usually get from the film adaptations … and we have an entirely new film to look forward to as well. This final installment of the Harry Potter film franchise is very dark and very scary … even for adults. No lie, I jumped out of my seat a couple of times with actual fright. There’s a lot of sexiness going on as well … Daniel Radcliffe strips down to his underwear in parts of the film and the semi-naked kissing (fantasy) scene between Harry Potter and Hermoine Granger made me feel really … uncomfortable. Still, those elements are required of the story so they didn’t feel gratuitous … in fact, they added muchly to the tone of the film. I was very impressed with the animated scenes that were used for the retelling of The Tale of the Three Brothers within the film. All in all, the film impressed me greatly … I loved it entirely. I really, REALLY did not want the movie to end … and when it does, I gave an audible sigh of sadness. I fear I’ll be bawling my eyes out when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 is released next Summer. I damn near bawled my eyes out this time!
I’m not sure how this film will play for folks who are unfamiliar with the Harry Potter books and/or movies but the other 98.7% of the planet should enjoy this film very much.

Christina Aguilera Comes Home To Max Liron For Xmas
Yesterday was a gloriously warm, sunny and RAINFREE day here in LA and David and I made the most of it. Since this is the first year we are spending Xmas together (as opposed to with our families on opposite ends of the country), we decided to keep things really quiet for just the two of us. We started out the day with an Xmas Eve brunch of Aussie Cheese Fries from Outback Steakhouse … and the day just got better from there.
After we stuffed our faces with cheesy deliciousness at Outback, we went for a walk together to enjoy the beautiful weather. After we came home to relax for a bit, we made our way to La Boheme Cafe in West Hollywood, CA for a lovely Xmas Eve dinner together. Then we came home to watch a few Xmas specials on TV … naturally, A Charlie Brown Christmas was top on our list. We fell asleep watching White Christmas and, well, that was our night. Altho it sounds like any of our regular nights together, this one was really special … in fact, any night that David and I get to spend together is a special night. I hope your Xmas Eve was just as special for you!! Happy Holidays!!!
