Arts and Entertainment:Music from EzineArticles.com

Cast your mind back to the first time that you heard that soul or rock singer who really captured your ear; the needle hit the groove and the band began to play, with the delicate croon of bluesy soul riding over the music beneath. Wouldn't it be great if we had them now, rather than the terrible pop stars that are force fed into our daily diet of music through the radio and TV?

Crooner Dean Martin Reminiscing With the King of Cool The Timeless Music of Dean Martin

Each and every drummer has his own different preference regarding the setting of spacing as well as angles of the 5 piece drum set. The main reason behind this is the comfort level and the drum beat you may wish to produce. This set is made up of brass drum, floor tom, snare, two upper toms and a drum seat.

Watch: A Clip Of Taylor Lautner Kickin’ Ass In ‘Abduction’ Hits The Internets

Back in April we got our first look at the first movie trailer for Twilight star Taylor Lautner‘s new feature film Abduction. Today, courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel Live, we get to see an almost 1-minute clip from the film that shows Lautner‘s character kickin’ some major ass on a speeding train. I have to say, [...]

After missing the show on Broadway, David and I were very excited to learn that the Tony Award-winning play God of Carnage was being performed here in LA with the original Broadway cast — Marcia Gay Harden, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Jeff Daniels. We waited for a performance where we could get really good tickets so that is why we waited until the show nearly ends its run to see it. The show ends performances here in LA this weekend … but we managed to get really good seats for our show. In short, we both loved God of Carnage very much … and we were very surprised at how the drama unfolded on stage ;)

I think it’s best that I not spoil the parts of the show that surprised us the most … but I will tell you that the play is very funny and not at all really dramatic. The acting was superb by all of the players and the story is simple on the surface but fairly complex underneath. I knew the basic premise of the play before seeing the show last night but I was NOT at all expecting it to turn out the way it did. There were parts of the show that were so riotously funny, I almost fell out of my chair. There was another part that almost had me running for cover (we were in the front row). God of Carnage is a fantastic play … one I heartily recommend wholeheartedly. If you get the chance to see it with the original Broadway cast, you MUST! I’m sorry I missed seeing it on Broadway but am very happy that I got to experience the same Broadway magic, with the same players, right here at home in LA.

Arts and Entertainment from EzineArticles.com

People make homemade jewelry for a lot of different reasons. One of the main reasons though is because they have an outfit and they need the right jewelry to finish the ensemble off. While this is a great reason, there are a few things you want to consider in order to accomplish this goal the right way.

Welp … that’s it. The very final episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show has aired in parts of the country, including the show’s home city of Chicago, IL. As expected, there were no guests on today’s final episode … it was just Oprah and her audience. Oprah shared her love, thanks and tentative goodbyes to her audience in the studio and watching around the world. Click below to watch video excerpts from Oprah‘s final show … including her final “until we meet again” that closed out the show.

It’s hard to believe that after 25 years, The Oprah Winfrey Show is really over … but it is over … finite … dunzo. Thanks for everything, Oprah. You are much loved and your daily talk show will be missed by many, I’m sure.

Why Folk Music Makes the Best Live Act

I really wanted to get back to playing music. The problem has been to find a musical instrument that I not only am able to play, but also that I enjoy playing. It's not that I don't enjoy playing a lot of different instruments. It is that I have some physical and probably mental reservations about trying to play different instruments.

Jesse James Kat Von D: Celebrity Couple of the Week

This week we heard grumblings of a split between Jesse James and Kat Von D. Has the romance between the two already fizzled? Nope! In fact, a wedding is soon on the horizon, and we’ve chosen them as our Celebrity Couple of the Week. After Jesse James’ scandal a la Tiger Woods style and eventual split from Sandra Bullock last year, it seemed that things kept going downhill for the West Coast Choppers CEO. Life would start getting better for the bad boy, as he soon started dating LA Ink star Kat Von D. They were definitely a match, much more believable than James’ pairing with Bullock. But you know the old adage, opposites attract, so that explained that. In January, Jesse and Kat became engaged, with Kat tweeting, “I guess the ‘kat’ is outta the bag, eh? Thank you for all the wonderful, loving congratulations from you all.. Overwhelmed with joy right now!” Fast forward to the present and rumors of the two going their separate ways. They spoke to PEOPLE, where Kat addressed the rumors, saying, “That’s the furthest thing from the truth.” James chimed in as well, telling the mag: “That is absolutely not true. We’re still [...]

Frank Sinatra The Icon Lives On In Vinyl

One of my favorite free music editing software applications is Audacity. It is one of the easiest applications to run and can be installed on Windows, Mac's and Linux. When I was first introduced to Audacity I didn't think too much about the program. It did have the normal multi-tracks most music editing software programs had, but I didn't realize just how many features it included until I really started to play around with the package.

Last month we got our first look at hottie actor Jake Gyllenhaal rockin’ a completely shaved head on the set of his new film End of Watch and today we learn that he has grown some of that hair back. Jake was spotted leaving the gym here in SoCal and as you can see in the photos below, his completely bald head is now all fuzzy.

Fuzzy head, fuzzy beard … is there any look that Jake can’t make totally hot? Even the baggy sweat pants … hot. To be honest, it’s the smile that really makes his hotness shine. He’s a cutie pie … always.

Rockabilly Guitarists Love That Hollow Body Sound

Keeping yourself in tune is one of the most important and essential fundamentals in singing, maybe even more than your vocal range. Sometimes you will notice someone singing along with a CD and not even recognize that they are singing out of tune seeing that they are not recording what they sound like. Some people do not even see that they are singing out of tune even when they are singing without any music.

apple and google watching our every move

Better not use those smart phones for anything illicit…

Lately, there's been some paranoia concerns that iPhone and Android devices keep track of users' locations.

In a sketcherrific move by Apple, the company hasn't issued a statement on the subject, and Google's only response was to say that they "obtain permission to run all Android location tracking services, and that location data is not traceable to individual users."

Here are a couple of creepy tidbits to keep in mind:

-iPhones and iPads "collect time-stamped location coordinates" very frequently (as much as every few minutes)

-Google Androids collect location data AND send it to Google for advertising purposes

There's talk of potential lawsuits regarding this issue, and a privacy rights bill proposed by Sen. John Kerry and Sen. John McCain could def pick up some steam thanks to Apple and Google sketchiness.

Should we even be writing this? Are they monitoring us? OMG, ARE THEY WATCHING US RIGHT NOW????

LOLz.

Do U think Apple and Google are watching our every move?

Panic At The Disco’s Brendon Urie’s Nasty Stage Injury (VIDEO)

Brendon Urie of Panic At The Disco is not some wimpy Emo dude. Nope. He really hurt himself during a live show, and decided to keep on rockin’, despite a massively swollen ankle. Don’t let the ridiculous looking vest in the video fool you, this could be filed under “true rock star moments.” After getting up close and personal with the crowd at a show in Jacksonville, Florida, Brendon stepped back on stage with a limp. He sort of hobbles for a second trying to pull his shoe off…then BOOM: the reveal. The crowd lets loose a sort of sympathetic, but still grossed out “ooooooooohhhhh,” as he shows off a pretty sick looking dumpling of an ankle injury. Let’s be honest, most people would be on the ground screaming, but this guy just sort of takes it like a man. He doesn’t even walk off stage to be check out. He just makes a couple of jokes about his grandmother’s goiter and straps on a guitar. The crowd seems to really appreciate his dedication and gets pretty fired up before the next song. Eventually the show ended and Brendon made it to the hospital, but not before sending this photo [...]
